Do you book flights?
We do not book flights directly, however we can book flights through our IATA certified agent in order to best match your itinerary & ease of travel.
What should I wear on Safari?
Dress in light, airy, comfortable clothing, and a hat with sunglasses to protect you from the sun.
It is also advisable to bring enclosed trekking shoes for bush walks.
For morning & evening drives, layer up with a sweater and a scarf to protect you from the cold seasonal morning & afternoon breeze.

Do I need a visa to travel?
The short answer is YES. However for Scandinavians and most European countries a Visa is usually granted upon arrival for 30 to 90 days.
In South Africa the tourism visa is free upon arrival, however in Mozambique f.ex. the tourist visa is only valid for 30 days and costs 50usd pr. person for 30 days. This is also granted on arrival.
Please advise with us once you have booked and we will double check to make sure to provide you with up to date information.
What Insurance do I need?
For our Scandinavian clients we recommend that you have cancellation protection and travel insurance in place before travelling - this is usually included with your credit card or general insurance - Please confirm with your insurance provider.
For our clients outside of the EU and Shengan that do not have Travel Insurance, or are not insured by credit card please see our Travel Insurance page under Quick Links in the footer: here you can purchase Travel Insurance through our partners at Global Rescue.
Do I need Vaccines?
Yes, although the type is dependant on your destination.
Please consult with your Doctor for correct and up to date vaccination information, also check what is recommended on your governments websites.
How should I handle cash?
Every city and town has an ATM - surprisingly even the most remote of places usually have an ATM to withdraw money.
Visa-Card machines are also found widely throughout all our destinations and paying by card should not be a problem.
We do advise withdrawing an amount equivalent to ca. 160,- USD. This is for tipping, gratuities, souvenirs and other smaller costs that might occur.
When should I start planning?
Booking 5 to 12 months in advance is ideal - Africa is a popular destination with growing international and domestic tourism so popular lodges and camps can book out quickly.
For larger groups or families we advise planning at the latest 7 months prior.
We can also book last minute safaris if need be.
Note: Full payment for your trip will be required 3 months before departure.
When is the best time to travel to Africa?
All year! The brilliance of Africa is that it has a constant flow of offerings, making it a true year-round destination.
During summer it is green and lush and during winter it is dry and arid thus allowing for easier game viewing.
Either-way, we provide amazing itineraries & destinations for any time of the year!
How much time should I allow for my African holiday?
This is dependent on the itinerary we create for you & which countries and regions you wish to explore.
7-9 days is ideal for short getaways with maximum one country in mind.
10-15 days is ideal for a genuine African experience, this is also sufficient time to visit ca. 2 countries.
16-28 days is ideal for true indulgence! this allows for a mix of everything wether it be safari & spa or wine & golf mixed with a small expedition.
All in all we recommend a minimum of 14 days.
Do you have 24h customer care?
Yes, this is included in some of our itineraries but not all. It is also possible to purchase 24h concierge as an add-on. However our partners and our Tofaraa in-country representatives should be able to assist you with most quieries.
Should I be worried about language barriers?
No, most countries in Sub-Saharan Africa speak English as a main language due to the history of colonialism.
Countries that do not have English as a main language generally require that employees in the tourism sector speak English.
As an added bonus all our in-country representatives speak the local languages and English - some even speak Norwegian & Swedish
Can I Travel during the Covid-19 pandemic?
We advise all our clients to revert to & follow their own government requirements & recommendations.
It is also advisable to cross-check with your insurance provider.
With that being said, An African holiday is likely to be the safest form of holiday there is during this current situation - as social distancing comes naturally on game drives, bush walks and other nature activities.
Note all of our partners are compliant and focused on following all prescribed measures both locally and by the WHO.
