Tofaraa was born from a truly unique perspective — we are both African and Nordic, not just in where we operate, but in who we are.

Our team includes individuals born and raised on the continent, with both African and Nordic heritage, and have lived extensively in both regions. We speak local languages, understand cultural nuance, and have travelled widely through neighbouring countries — not as tourists, but as locals.

We’re also proud to include Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish team members who have chosen to call Africa home, drawn by its beauty, complexity, and energy.

This deep, personal connection allows us to offer something truly distinct: travel experiences shaped by lived insight, local understanding, and Nordic expectations for quality, safety, and service. We don’t just plan travel — we curate journeys that are seamless, meaningful, and rooted in authenticity.

Founded in 2021 in Oslo, our vision is simple but bold: to become the leading Nordic travel company for Sub-Saharan and African travel. We offer authentic, ethical & sustainable high-impact travel, where travelling with purpose is accomplished by simply choosing Africa as your destination and Tofaraa as your travel partner.
