The Victoria & Alfred will be our base and the start to this amazing journey. This property gives great access to all the activities available in central Cape Town.
With Sightseeing, Robben Island, and the famous Table Mountain just a stone throw away. We will also be able to enjoy sundowners at the beach, shopping at the V&A marina and full day wine tours of the Cape Winelands.

Checking-in to Avani Gaborone after a border crossing and 5h drive  from South Africa we can enjoy a great dinner, outside courtyard and the capital of Botswana. This will be the last hotel on the journey until reaching Maun in the North.

Kubu Island is a dry granite rock island located in the Makgadikgadi Pan area of Botswana and a 5h drive from Khama. Kubu is a national monument and considered a sacred site to the indigenous people of the area. The campsite is run for the benefit of the local population & accessible only by 4x4. Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson described the island as "just about the most astonishing place I've ever been" on the Botswana Special episode.

Approximately 3hrs from Baines is Cresta Riley’s Hotel, located in Maun and known as a legendary tourist establishment in Botswana. This hotel is a premier stopover for adventurers on their way to the Okavango Delta, Savuti, Chobe National Park or Moremi. Rileys will be our first hotel stay since leaving Gaborone. here we can enjoy comfortable beds, restaurants and a tour of Maun town. 

Savuti campsites are also unfenced so there may be wild animals roaming around the campsite during your say. The camps provide a view of the Savuti Channel that has started flowing again after years of being dry. the camp is beautiful base camp for exploring Chobe National Park. The area is known for the large group of Bull elephants which you will probably see during your stay at Savuti.
